Bosnias Gay Art Exhibition Attacked

A gay art exhibition, a part of Bosnia's gay festival, was attacked by homophobes. One man called homosexual relationships "not normal". The Islamic media campaigned against the coincidence of the festival with Ramadan. Eight injuries were the result of the violence and six people with head wounds were taken to hospital. Unfortunately, only one attacker was detained. An activist everyone to dialogue and discouraged violence.

I really hope gay people in the Balkans will be able to live in peace like we do in many countries in the European Union, where civil partnerships and gay marriage have become legal. I'm thankful that I have to live with less and less homophobia. If religious people believe that their god is good, they would not be using violence against peaceful homosexuals. I wish the best for gay people who have to suffer in countries like the Balkans.
